My two young adult fantasy novellas, Jade’s Awakening and Jade’s Descent were only going to be e-books on Amazon. Why? Because I could only do so much and the thought of formatting was a nightmare to me. As a new writer, e-publishing had it’s own challenges. But I will admit to sighing occasionally with the thought of my books in print. That had always been a dream of mine…
I then made Jade’s Awakening (Book 1) available on Barnes & Noble Nook and Kobo. I’m in the process of Apple Books. With Jade’s Descent (Book 2), I did the same and now they are on Kobo and Nook. Kobo even allowed me to have Jade’s Paradox (Book 3) up as a pre-order available for readers, and that isn’t even being released until February.
The same way one can listen to a song via their phone and long for the scratchy yet deep sound that can only be achieved with a record player, I yearned to see my words on a printed page. I wanted my readers to be able to feel the paper and flip the page.
There was a part of me that knew I still had yet another area to explore. I rolled my sleeves up and began the search for information on making my book available in print. It has been a long road, but well worth it.
There were terms I had never heard before and depths of Microsoft Word that I never knew existed. However, with the generosity of bloggers I was able to find my way. I am now awaiting my proofs for both books and I can’t help but feel like I’m waiting for Christmas!
I remember the countless books I’ve held in my hands, carried in my book bag, or lent to a family member or friend. Who hasn’t fallen asleep with your favorite book in your hand?
So, for my next blog post, be prepared for a photos of my printed books. It’s going to be a celebration! I may have a giveaway or two linked with my books being available for sale on Amazon.
Whatever you’re doing out there, keep your dreams alive, no matter how small or big.

Here is a review that makes me smile:
“I was mesmerized from the beginning. The characters are well developed and the story line is amazing. I couldn’t put it down and was sad when I got to the last page. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Jade’s Descent. I’ve already pre-ordered!” – Lisa W.
